About a month ago I started saving food scraps for composting.
Wich is also a good place for my teabags and coffie grounds (wich I drink a lot of)
Soon I´ll buy a bucket because I´m already on my third compost jar.
When my food scraps turn into soil I´m going to give them to my mother who has been blessed with green fingers, mine are black I have even killed cactuses (yes that´s plural)

100 things

For the last month or two I have been simplifying my life.  I have been getting rid of all the things I have and don´t need.

My goal is to have 100 - 150 thing and to not accumulate things I don´t need.
And to properly clean out my basement storage space so I keep all my spare thing in my appartment.
My basement is king of buried down and it really freaks me out.

Now I start feeling weight lifted of me.

This is pretty great.

Crochet and podcasts

I hope you had a good christmas, mine was wonderful filled with family and great food.

I wanted to show you my last crochet project I made for my self.

Here is the pattern or here  if you don´t have ravelry. It´s a nice and easy pattern.

Also I wanted to mention some podcasts I´ve been listening to.

Two artsy gals are two very funny crafters from Portland Oregon (I think) and On pins and needles who are three fiber happy ladies.

I you know of any fun craftsy podcasts preferably with more than one host (wich seems to keep my attention more then the monolouges do) please let me know.

Reading, listening watching

Reading:  I have been reading a graphic novel series called Preacher by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, I am now on book three Proud Americans.  That I have read is really good and interesting.

Listening:  i have been listening to a podcast called Answer me this with Helen and Ollie, it's very british and very funny.  The podcast is built arround questiions that people send to the show and the hosts answering them,  that show is always fun.
I've also been listening to some folksy stuff like the Decemberists and Tilly and the wall.

Watching:  I binge watched Breaking bad and honestly I'm still catching my breath.  That show was really dark.  I really like that comic relief Saul Goodman who brightened everything up just a little bit and have been thinking about watching the breaking bad spinoff Better call Saul.

In other news I have been trying to crochet a chevron lace cardigan but it isn't going well for me I think I have to use thicker yarn,  So I'll try that later but instead I'm crocheting a Twyla cardigan.

That's it for now

Last summer I learned to sprout beans wich is great because I love beansprouts and being a little self sufficiant.  So here are my instructions.

First you put the peas in water overnight, you have to use whole peas or they wont sprout.

After the peas have soaked you drain the water and put the peas in a cheese cloth and twist the loose ends tight and put it in a light tight container twistie ends down.

Keep the container somewhere dark and water the cloth regularly (I use a spray bottle).  The cloth can´t ever get dry.  In two or three days you should have a cloth full of bean sprouts.

Remove the sprouts from the cloth and keep them in a fridge.

Here are some photos of the procedure.

Good luck with all your bean sprouting.
